At AAC Camp, communication isn't something that happens only during intervention. It happens while reading stories, building forts, cooking together, solving problems, exploring outdoors, creating art, playing games, swimming, and sharing laughter with friends.
Every activity is designed intentionally to create menaingful communication opportunities while fostering confidence, independence, literacy, friendships, and authentic participation.
Our
Daily Rhythm
Connecting the Community
We begin each day by welcoming one another, building community, and preparing for a day filled with communication, exploration, and fun.
Literacy & Language
Stories become conversations; books become adventures; writing becomes self-expression.
AAC users experience evidence-based literacy instruction that is meaningful, engaging, and accessible through multiple means of engagement, representation, action and expression.
Communication Throughout the Day
AAC isn't an activity. It's woven into everything we do. Our campers learn that communication can happen anywhere - with friends, team members, family members, and new and familiar communication partners.
Play With Purpose
Whether we're experimenting, creating art, playing games, exploring outside, or solving challenges together, every activity becomes another opportunity to communicate naturally.
Reflection + Celebration
Each day ends by celebrating successes, sharing stories, and recognizing the many ways our campers have communicated, connected, and grown.
Our Philosophy
Communication Happens Everywhere.
We believe that we learn best when communication has a purpose. By providing context and meaningful experiences communication becomes the bridge to engagement, relationships, friendships, learning, autonomy, independence, and belonging.
